Interview: Anthony James Named Co-Broker of Record

Congratulations to Anthony James on being named Vice President of Personal Development/Co-Broker of Record! We had the chance to chat with Anthony and ask the questions that are on your mind. Take a few minutes to get to know Anthony James!
How long have you been in real estate and how did you get started?
16 years. I started my career with RE/MAX Gold at age 21 and worked for a top producing team as a listing agent. My early career was focused on working with expired and FSBO listings. When the real estate market crashed, I shifted into the distressed property market with a focus on short sales. In 2010, I teamed up with my wife, Nikki James. Together, we have helped hundreds of families buy, sell and invest in real estate.
In what capacities have you worked with RE/MAX Gold?
I started as an agent, sold real estate for about 11 years, obtained my brokers license in 2010, and transitioned into leadership in January of 2013 with RE/MAX Gold. Since 2013, I have managed multiple branches, opened two new offices (Midtown and Rocklin) for the company, served as Regional Manager, Market Vice President, and now Vice President of Professional Development/Co-Broker of Record.
Can you share your thoughts on taking on your new role as Co-Broker alongside Bev Kendall?
Bev Kendall is inspiring. Working alongside her as Co-Broker of Record is an honor and privilege. Her example of leadership at RE/MAX Gold has set the Gold Standard throughout our organization. Bev has helped me over the years better define my leadership philosophy for which I am forever grateful. Serving along side Broker Bev is an incredible opportunity that has me filled with an optimistic anticipation about my future growth and development with RE/MAX Gold!
What is your vision for RE/MAX Gold? What are you excited for?
Our company continues to place tremendous focus on equipping our agents to provide the best in service and experience to home buyers and sellers. I'm excited to serve alongside so many extraordinary professionals that align with RE/MAX Gold who share a common goal of serving the consumer at the highest level.
In your opinion, why is real estate such a special career?
The real estate business provides a multitude of career opportunities. There's a diverse range of career paths available to explore within our industry. I've personally explored and experienced the sales, mortgage, investment and leadership pathways within real estate. Every pathway leads to an infinite opportunity to learn and earn. Real estate has been the catalyst that has positively impacted the lives of my entire family; this business is special indeed.
Do you have any favorite activities or hobbies outside of work?
Spending time with family, serving my church, camping, hiking and traveling. My wife and I have 2 children, Leighton (3 years old) and Garner (2 years old) and have a baby girl (Sloane) due in September. Most or our time outside of work consists of chasing toddlers and juggling family responsibilities; never a dull moment in the James Household!
