RE/MAX Gold Participates in UC Davis Children's Hospital Mediathon

RE/MAX Gold is committed to serving the communities we live and work in, through donating our time and our funds. Recently, many members of our leadership team had the opportunity to participate in a "Mediathon" on ABC10 to raise funds for UC Davis Children's Hospital (UCDCH).

The Mediathon took place outside of the hospital's new level 1 Children's Surgery Center. UC Davis is the only hospital on the West Coast and the fourth in the nation to earn the verification of level 1 children's surgery center from the American College of Surgeons. This verification means the surgery center has specialty trained children’s surgeons in every discipline, with pediatric anesthesiologists and dedicated operating rooms for children available 24 hours a day.

RE/MAX Gold has been a corporate partner with UCDCH for many years, as they are the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital in Sacramento. Over the past 4 years, RE/MAX Gold has raised over $420,000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals like UC Davis Children's Hospital. Last year alone, we raised over $205,000 thanks to the generosity of our "Miracle Agents", who donate a portion of their commission to CMN.
Steve Davies, El Dorado Hills Office Manager, believes the Miracle Agent program is a huge benefit of being a RE/MAX agent. "What a great opportunity to market the home as a Miracle Home, get some recognition in our community, and help build your business," he says. "It’s a small price to pay to help a local child in need! Look at what an impact we’ve already had collectively!"
John Shook, Elk Grove Office Manager, oversees our largest offices and regularly gives his time to various causes and events, but the Mediathon is one of his favorites to attend. "Being there, you see the passion and love from the people that are involved. It is one of those events that warms your heart. The excitement at the end when they announce the final number is great," say John.
The Mediathon, which began at 4:30 am and ended at midnight, raised over $523,000 during the event! All of the funds donated will benefit children in the 33-county service area served by the hospital.
