Hello Friends,
We are on for our RE/MAX balloon flight in Lincoln, CA tomorrow (Saturday) morning and I'm hoping you can help us out as balloon crew. We will be meeting at Lincoln Regional Airport at 6:30 am. Please be on time, as we need to have the balloon in the air shortly after sunrise. The address is 1480 Flightline Drive, Lincoln, CA.
As always, this is a visibility flight for the RE/MAX balloon. The pilot will work to navigate the RE/MAX balloon to high visibility areas for advertising benefit. Should we have spectators nearby, it is good to have business cards available and be prepared to market yourself.
WHAT IS THIS FLIGHT ABOUT?
This is a special event called “Lifting Spirits Around the World”! Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the largest annual hot air balloon event in the world traditionally begins on the first Saturday in October. Because of the Covid-19 issue, the event has been canceled for this year, but balloons from all over the world will be flying this weekend in celebration of our Frontline Heroes. We will have special “Thank You Frontline Heroes” banners attached to our RE/MAX basket as well.
The RE/MAX fleet will be joining in with this event and Corporate is asking us to take lots of pictures and share them both on social media and with Headquarters in Denver directly. Social media posts can be tagged: @remax
HOW DO I PREPARE & WHAT DO I WEAR? If you have RE/MAX branded apparel, wear it! We must also display a community-conscious attitude, so bring your masks. We recommend sturdy closed-toed walking shoes & comfortable cotton clothing; avoid synthetic fabrics such as polyester and nylon. Layers are a good idea as it is often cool before the sun comes up but can warm up quickly once it has risen.
HOW LONG IS AN AVERAGE BALLOON FLIGHT? Usually, a balloon flight lasts about an hour, but due to landing spots and weather conditions, it may be shorter or longer. At an average wind speed of about 5 mph, a balloon will fly anywhere from 1 - 8 miles. Ground crews follow the balloon, talking on the radio with the pilot. The balloon will land in an open area and the ground crew is there to help with the recovery and take everyone back to the launch site.
WHAT IF I NEED TO USE THE FACILITIES? Plan on being away from nearby facilities anywhere from one to two hours.
CAN I BRING MY CAMERA? We strongly encourage everyone to bring cameras to this very special event. As to not miss a single shot, load fresh batteries ahead of time
