Betty Pomeroy, REALTOR and Baker Extraordinaire, Celebrates 90th Birthday

This week, the agents from our Fair Oaks office put their day on pause to celebrate a special occasion: Betty Pomeroy‘s 90th birthday.

Betty has been a part of the RE/MAX Gold family since the beginning. In fact, if it wasn’t for Betty there wouldn’t be a RE/MAX “Gold”. Back in the day, the Company was referred to as “RE/MAX Capital City”. Ready for change, Mike Mobley, one of the original owners of RE/MAX Gold, announced a contest to help him select a new name for the Company. Drawing from the inspiration of Gold Country where she grew up, Betty submitted the name “RE/MAX Gold”, which was a perfect fit!

Betty has been a part of the real estate industry for 42 years, after a career working in sales departments at radio stations. She has been with RE/MAX Gold for a total of 24 years.

But Betty doesn’t just sell real estate—she also has a cake baking business! “Betty’s ‘Boozey’ Cakes” (yes, you read that right) began 3 years ago and has kept her busy ever since. With flavors like Rum Pecan, Lemon Vodka and even a Tequila Sunrise, Betty’s cakes are a hit with her colleagues at the Fair Oaks office!

At 90 years young, Betty is the epitome of the “RE/MAX Hustle”. You might ask her, “Does your real estate career and cake business keep you moving all the time?” To which Betty would respond, “You better believe it!”
