Many know Emily Uebelhoer as a beloved member of our RE/MAX Gold Midtown office. With 16 years in the business, Emily is a well respected Realtor® within the Sacramento area and her real estate community. In April of 2018, Emily was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, which she began treatment for the following month.

So far, Emily has endured 3 rounds of chemotherapy, and most recently underwent a double mastectomy. She is scheduled to have an additional surgery in January 2019 and is waiting to hear if she will need another round of chemotherapy or radiation therapy to ensure the cancer has been removed. Throughout her treatment, Emily has remained optimistic and continues to shine her light!

Emily is a single mother of 2 and has spent much of her life, and her savings, caring for her aging parents. After their deaths, Emily, her son (18), and daughter (11) were devastated—both emotionally and financially.

Since beginning her chemotherapy treatment in May, Emily has had to put her business on hold to focus on her health. Being that she is the sole provider for her family, Emily has struggled to make ends meet.

Some of Emily’s neighbors and friends have rallied around her to assist with dinners, appointments and rides. Others have assisted with her kid’s tuition, home maintenance, pet’s needs and other necessary expenses as they have come about. Despite all of the love and support she has felt, Emily still needs a lot of help when it comes to her mortgage, bills, living expenses and treatment costs!

Both children have overcome many educational challenges. Emily’s 7-ft tall son has been legally blind since birth—but that hasn’t stopped him from playing varsity football and earning honor roll status at Christian Brothers High School. This has been possible due to the caring school staff and the ability to magnify his assignments on electronic devices.

Emily’s daughter has also thrived when she received specialized, 1-on-1 instruction at Lindamood Bell School. Despite her dyslexia, asthma, eczema, and severe allergies, she was able to move up 3 grade levels in 3 months. The family would like to get her back to a specialized school, like Lindamood Bell, where she can continue to grow academically and emotionally.

We are calling on the support of Gold Nation to consider helping Emily financially by donating to the Go Fund Me account that has been set up on her behalf. Emily is a fighter & has such determination when it comes to beating her cancer! All donations, big and small, will greatly assist Emily in making ends meet while she continues her fight.
