Phil’s journey in real estate began over 47 years ago in 1974, when Phil worked as a salesman for an advertising company. When the MGM Grand Hotel opened in Reno, he felt a shift was coming to the region and decided to transition into selling real estate. He figured, “If I can sell something intangible like advertising, I can sell real estate.” In 1975, he became a licensed Realtor and began his career in real estate. After determining real estate as the right career choice, Phil obtained a broker’s license after four years in the industry.
Early on in his real estate career, Phil dedicated himself to learning and education. He credits his quick learning and adaptation in real estate to Charles Chatum’s “Realty 500,” where he learned invaluable skills for becoming a Realtor. Phil quickly realized that when working with clients in real estate, you are not a salesperson; you are a consultant. He takes great responsibility for ensuring his clients receive realistic expectations and are guided appropriately to achieve what they wish to accomplish in real estate.

For Phil, coming to RE/MAX Gold was a comfortable transition. Several agents he had previously worked with at Chase International had already made the transition to RE/MAX Gold. He knew he liked and respected these agents and knew he would get along with them and others at RE/MAX Gold.
