RE/MAX Hall of Fame: Linda Shields

RE/MAX Gold attracts the best, most productive agents in our region. The Hall of Fame award recognizes Associates who’ve earned more than $1 million in gross commissions with RE/MAX. We will be sharing some of our RE/MAX Gold award recipients in the coming weeks to highlight their achievements.

This week’s Hall of Fame member is Linda Shields from our Lakeport office.

Linda began her career in 2001 with no plans to make real estate a full time gig. But as many can attest to, after a few months in the business she became hooked; she loved the challenge and the opportunity to work with people. At first she worked primarily as a buyer’s agent, where she says she “ran around like Tour Guide Barbie and showed every home in every town”. She eventually ventured into life as a listing agent after lots of study and gaining her GRI certification.

When the market crashed in 2008, Linda took a hiatus from the industry to work in an accounting position at a local winery. She returned to real estate in 2014 to what was then known as RE/MAX Lake County up until last year when they became a part of RE/MAX Gold. Linda says they are “still the same family, but now a growing family, adding more value to our local market and, in turn, our own careers.”

One of Linda’s most fond memories in real estate was just last year, when she was able to help her own daughter purchase her first home. Looking forward, Linda is excited to venture into a new project: working side-by-side with her husband, who is a general contractor building custom homes for Linda to list!
